The Hotel Panama is currently managed by Régis Rossi and his father, Igino. Both are driven by their great passion for this profession. This is evident in their approach to their guests and the politeness and the warmth of the welcome with which they greet all of their guests who will discover, in this hotel, the delights of an atmosphere that is totally Italian combined with excellent levels of comfort, cleanliness and peacefulness. In addition to their personal qualities and their extensive experience and training, Régis and Igino can claim to be true professionals.
Régis left the Marco Polo Technical Institute for Tourism in Florence, with his qualifications and the enthusiasm of a twenty-year old, to begin his professional career with the Cumberland Hotel in London and the Holiday Inn in Brussels. Returning to Italy he worked for 4-star hotels in Florence where he expanded his knowledge of the issues associated with hospitality and hotel management. In 2003, being now better trained, he began working with his father managing the Hotel Cimabue. Having sold that business, in August 2008 he took over the management of the Hotel Franchi and then the Hotel Panama in January 2009, the successful beginnings to a brilliant continuation of his father’s profession.
Igino was born in Civitella Alfedena, in the province of L’Aquila. Having completed his professional training in the hotel trade and attended several English language courses, he began his career in 1965 on board the Motor Vessel Asia of the Lloyd Triestino line. In 1967 he moved abroad (Zurich and London), beginning as a Chef de Rang and eventually becoming the head of the reception team at London’s Metropole Hotel. In 1974 he joined the THF Hotels Group and for more than seven years worked in some of the Group’s most prestigious establishments both in Italy and abroad - from the Forte Hotel Village in Sardinia to the Hyde Park Hotel in London where he filled a variety of hotel managerial and executive roles. His career as a Hotel Manager began in 1982, firstly at the Hotel Castelsandra in S. Marco di Castellabbate (Salerno), then at the Golf Hotel Riva dei Tessali in Marina di Ginosa (Taranto) and finally at the Balletti Park Hotel in San Martino al Cimino (Viterbo). In 1987 he began his first business venture, taking over the Belvedere Motel in Avezzano. Between 1993 and 2007 he ran the Hotel Cimabue in Florence.
